I have been itching to craft so badly, but it's just not happening for me! We are temporarily living in my parents' house while we have our first home ever built! It's wonderful, but there just isn't anywhere to put my stuff unless I want to set up in the garage, which, in Texas during the summer, is not the best idea!!! Too darn hot! We did finally get our shipment which contained some of my crafting supplies, but I couldn't bring them all. I never realized how truly dependent I am on my punches until I didn't have free access to them! I'm completely lost! I did manage to bring my Big Shot and all my dies, though, so that's something. However, there are times when you absolutely MUST have your punches! I am trying really hard to eek out some stamping time and space, but it's rough! Please bear with me during this transition and understand that my posts will be sporadic for the next few months. For those of you who choose to stick around, I will have some blog candy once we are moved in to our home and I have my craft room set up (YES!!! I get my very own craft room!!!) and all of my stamping goodness together in one place! Thanks so much!!!
Now on to what you're really here for! For this particular card, I really wanted/needed my Extra Large Oval punch. I did manage with an oval cut from the Ovals die, but it wasn't quite the same! Just a smidge too small, but it worked.
Here's the Mojo Monday 207 sketch that worked from.
It's a great sketch! I absolutely love it and the samples over at the Mojo Monday Blog are phenomenal!!!
Here's my card. I did deviate from the sketch a touch, but overall am quite happy with how my card turned out.

Monkeys, Monkeys Everywhere
I mentioned in my last post that I'm going to be an Aunt again! I'm so excited! I absolutely LOVE babies. Now that mine are growing up (they're 11 and 14) I am always in the market to borrow one from a friend or neighbor for a few hours to get my "fix", so I can't wait for our newest addition to arrive! Unfortunately, for now, they live several hundred miles away so I won't get to see him as much as I'd like.
Yesterday, I shared a card I made for my mom to give to the mother-to-be at her baby shower today. Today, I'm going to share the card I made. I was totally and completely inspired by this card created by mum of 2+2 at Splitcoaststampers! I think her card is AMAZING and since the theme of my nephew's nursery is going to be monkeys it was absolutely perfect!
My new nephew's name is Dawson, so the card had to be fairly long for his name to fit. I made a rather odd sized card -- 8 1/2" x 2 3/4". I figured after she opens the gift and reads the card I can ask her for it back so I can frame it for her and have it ready for her to take with her when she stops by our house on her way back home in two weeks. I saw a 3 x 9 frame at Wal-Mart that would be perfect for it!

Easy Baby Card
I really, really didn't like the Fun & Fast Notes set, so when I saw that Stampin' Up! came out with a similar set I wasn't too excited. However, I have to say that the Easy Events stamp set is absolutely ADORABLE! I never thought I'd like, much less love, this type of set (although I have to say that I really did love the set a few years back that had the little owl with the Whoo! Hoo! sentiment -- can't think of the name right now).
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are expecting their first baby around Christmas and the baby shower is this weekend. My mom needed a card, so I quickly threw one together. And by quickly, I mean it took me less than five minutes to make this card! Thanks in large part to the Stampin' Up! Note Cards! These are fantastic for throwing a quick card together!
Supplies:
So Saffron Classic Ink (105213)
Baja Breeze Classic Ink (111833)
Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink (105216)
Staz-On Ink (101406)
Note Cards (107311)
Baja Breeze 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock (111352)
