Pinterest Inspiration

My nephew (who is also an avid baseball player) turned 9 on Sunday.  I knew I wanted to make him a baseball themed card, so off to Pinterest I went!  When I saw THIS card I knew I'd found the card to case.  I contacted my SIL to find out what his team colors were and used those as my palette.  I started with a Night of Navy card base and a Whisper White canvas.  I have to admit -- I am a paper hoarder!  I have got the paper stacks going back several years in every color family and I have sworn to myself that I will NOT order any more color family paper stacks (except new In Colors) until I've exhausted my stockpile.  However, even though the designs on my DSP have retired, the colors have not and you can still get the Designer Series Paper Stacks in all color families (and I've linked those for you below).

I used the Red Glimmer Paper with the Stars Framelits to create the outlined stars and the Night of Navy card stock to create the solid star.  I then ran the Night of Navy star through my Big Shot with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I punched the "baseball" with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and drew the stitching on with my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, which I then popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Night of Navy strip was punched with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  The sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set.  I sure hope he loves his card as much as I loved making it for him!

Thanks for stopping by!

Snow Place Triple Tier Slider Card

Sorry I've been absent for so long!  Who knew being a baseball mom was so time consuming?  My son recently playing with a travel baseball team, which entails a minimum of 4 days of baseball per week with a minimum of 30 minutes travel time, each way, each day!  That, combined with all of my regular "mom" duties as well as work, make for a very busy schedule and very little time in the craft room.  Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way!

On to today's card.  I am absolutely in love with the Snow Place stamp set!  The little snowmen and the penguin are so stinkin' adorable!  And the sentiments are equally as cute.  I saw THIS video tutorial for creating this fun moving card over on YouTube and knew right away I had to try it.  And what better stamp set to use than Snow Place?  I am so super excited by the way this card turned out, especially because it's my very own design and not cased from anyone :)

This was such a fun card to create.  I created the little snow banks under the snowmen with my Soft Sky Stampin' Write Marker.  I think it adds a nice touch!

Work of Art Thank You

This is the card I am mailing to anyone who places an order with me this month.  I saw it here.  Dawn always makes the CUTEST cards!  I do not have the stamp sets she used, but immediately knew I would use Work of Art and Another Thank You to recreate her card.  I also wanted to showcase one of the new 2015-2016 In Colors.  I chose Mint Macaron.  I think it is just as cute using these stamp sets!

More About BCRF

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) advances the world's most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. Founded by Evelyn H. Mojo Monday 400 with Watercolor Wings

I am so enjoying being back in my craft room!  I wish I had more time to go in and create (and you may find some gaps between posts), but between work and my son's travel baseball schedule, my life is crazy!  I wouldn't have it any other way, though!

I'm sure you don't want to hear about my crazy life, though.  After all, you came here to see something crafty and creative :)

Today's card features the Mojo Monday 400 sketch and Watercolor Wings stamp set.  I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!  It has so many possibilities.

This card just makes me happy!  Because the Designer Series Paper has a vanilla background, I sponged the Tea Lace Paper Doily with Crumb Cake ink to soften the starkness of the white doily.  I think it helped.

Updates Coming

I am in the process of updating my blog with current information.  Since I was out of the Stampin' Up! game for awhile, many of my links on my sidebar are no longer active.  Please bear with me over the next several days while I get everything current.  Thank you all very much!

Mojo Monday 413

I've finally been able to play in my stamp room and the best place to start when you've been lacking in the mojo department is a sketch.  My go to sketches are always from Mojo Monday!  Here I use Mojo 413 to get my juices flowing.

I love this layout!  I made a Tall & Skinny card like the sketch (3.5" x 5.5"), but it could easily be converted to a standard card!  And as always, I had to add a little finishing touch to the inside.

This was a fun sketch to work with and very easy for me.  They aren't always!
