When I first saw the Springtime Vintage Paper I didn't like it one bit.  What was wrong with me?  Seriously!  Isn't it the most scrumptious paper ever?

If you haven't noticed, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to swap!  I try to participate in at least one swap a month.  It really makes me step outside my comfort zone and do something that I may not be totally comfortable with.  I really need to start doing challenges, too.  I'm a huge CASEr and I like to use swaps and challenges to force me to find my inner artist -- I know she's in there somewhere LOL.

I really wanted to show you the most recent swap I participated in but I can't find the darn picture!  As soon as my swap partner posts pictures, I'll come back and share, I promise!

Progressive Scrapbook Page for UStamp!!!

My first UStamp with Dawn and Friends Big Shot Brilliance 2011 project has posted.  If you haven't figured out by the title *wink*, it's a progressive scrapbook page.  I showed everyone how to step up your 6x6 page to an 8-1/2x11 page and finally up to a 12x12 page.  I love this type of scrapbooking.  By starting off small, I don't feel so overwhelmed.  I actually made two of these, one for my daughter and one for her best friend.  The girls absolutely LOVED them.  This is where I get my gratification ... from those who love receiving my work!

My Digital Studio Scoreboard

This page couldn't have come together more easily!  And I absolutely LOVE the results.  I used the pre-made template that came Scoreboard Stamp Brush Set digital download.  All I had to do was click and drag my photo into the photo box.  I could have chosen to leave it exactly as it came, but I wanted my colors to match so I used the fantastic color match feature to match the colors on the page to my son's uniform.  Added a little journaling and voila!

Supplies:
My Digital Studio (118108)
Scoreboard Stamp Brush Set (includes 10-piece stamp brush set and one 12" x 12" page) (122264)

Grecian Square Quilt Card

I saw a fabulous card at Dannie's Designs.  She got the tutorial for the fabulous quilted card here, so I quickly went directly to the tutorial and had a look!  My mother-in-law is an avid quilter and I thought this would be the perfect type of card for her!  And can I just say, Oh My Goodness!!!  This was so easy to make and I love the final look!  I did want to try a different variation on the card in the tutorial so I headed off to search the World Wide Web for quilt block patterns.  I found some great instructions for a Grecian Square quilt block and went from there!  I really like how this card turned out.  I imagine I can kick it up a notch or two by adding some embellishments, but I think to do that I would need to turn it into a standard size card (this one is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4") because I don't want to cover up the quilted pattern.  I may try that next!  I would LOVE to hear what you think about this card!

Teenage Boy Birthday Swap Card

I signed up for a swap over at Splitcoaststampers for a Teenage Birthday card.  I chose to do a boy card as they are really outside my comfort zone and I wanted to challenge myself.  I aw a video for the Gate Fold Card with a Twist and decided to give it a go.  I'm really pleased with the results!  This was a relatively easy swap as it was a 5 + 1 for a total of only 6 cards.  It went rather quickly, I believe it took less than an hour to complete them all.

All is Well in Okinawa

Hi everyone.  I just wanted to do a quick post to let you all know that we are fine here on our little island of Okinawa, Japan. We are actually located approximately 1,000 miles from mainland Japan and have not felt any of the effects of the horrific earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan yesterday.  We have been under tsunami warnings and advisories, but so far have been unaffected.  I have been busy designing for the next round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends and a few other projects and hope to have something to share with you very soon!
