Rather than having to untie and re-tie my ribbon every time I wanted to get into my planner, I attached the left side of my ribbon with Sticky Strip and wrapped the ribbon around to be held closed with a magnet.

Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die (120903)

Morning Cup Slider Card

This fabulous card is an exact case of the card designed by Betty Traciak for UStamp Cards with Cool Moves 2010!  The only change I made was to complete the inside of the card.  Isn't it wonderful.

The cup mounted on the black scallop circle actually slides out and reveals a message underneath.  I forgot to take a picture of that part!  I must admit, I was really intimidated by this card, but once I got started it was so easy!  I will be making a ton of these!

Poppy Parade Card Stock (119793)

September Thank You Cards

I like to send a thank you card to each of my customers who place orders with me.  I cased September's cards from a video I saw on Chic 'n' Scratch's YouTube channel.  She is awesomely talented.

This is not your traditional A2 card.  It is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  The great thing about this size card is you can still mail it in an A2 envelope!

Whisper White Card Stock (100730)
Marina Mist Card Stock (119682)
Marina Mist Classic Stampin' Pad (119668)
Marina Mist 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119965)

Just Jawing Birthday

My daughter had a birthday party to go to last weekend and I just had to pull out the retired Just Jawing stamp set.  I was so sad to see it go.  It is one of my go-to stamp sets for pre-teen girl cards.  It is just so much fun.

This was a really quick card to put together.  It is very basic and just has layers.  To create the eyes, I used heat and stick powder along with some red glitter I had in my stash.

Giant Nugget Box

My fourth and final project for my October Stamp Camp is one I've shown before.  I found the instructions for this giant nugget box on Becky Roberts' blog.  She is one amazingly talented lady!  I decided to use the Delightful Decorations stamp set this time since we're coming up on Christmas.  I stuck with the retired Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper for a more non-traditional Christmas color scheme.
This was a special request from one of my girls.  I sure hope they like it.  I think they're going to be surprised how easily it comes together!

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Here is the third project for my October Stamp Camp.  The new Candy Wrapper die in the Holiday Mini is my absolute favorite go-to die for a quick treat wrapper.  Is is so easy to use and only takes half a sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 card stock.  And it is so versatile!  You can use it for any occasion, from Halloween (as I used it here) to Christmas to birthday parties to wedding favors and the list goes on!

On this particular candy wrapper I chose Pumpkin Pie card stock which I cut with my Big Shot and folded using the score lines from the die as my guide.  I then ran the card stock through my Big Shot with my Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then I took one of our Stampin' Sponges and Basic Black Classic Ink and lightly rubbed it over the raised embossed image.  I stamped the Spooky sentiment from the Wicked Cool stamp set onto Whisper White and cut it out with the Large Oval Punch, which I then layered on a piece of Basic Black card stock punched with the Scalloped Oval Punch.  I finished the candy wrapper off by tying the ends off with the Raven 1/2" Lace Trim.

Supplies:
Pumpkin Pie 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock (105117)
Basic Black 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock (121045)
Basic Black Classic Ink Pad (101179)
Wicked Cool stamp set (Wood Mount - 118738; Clear Mount - 120600)
Candy Wrapper Bigs L Die (120890)
Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (120889)
Scallop Oval Extra-Large Punch (119856)
1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large Punch (119855)
Raven 1/2" Lace Trim (120988)

It's My Birthday!!! Do You Want Some Candy?

So, in honor of my 40th birthday, I thought I'd share a birthday card.  My son went to a party on Saturday for one of his girl friends who is not girly at all.  I didn't want to make her a girly card, but I also didn't want it to be too boyish.  I got out my Celebrations Designer Series Paper as well as my Party This Way and Word Play stamp sets then rifled through my saved sketches from Mojo Monday.  I found the perfect sketch in Mojo Monday Week 150 Sketch from August 2, 2010.  I am really pleased with how this card turned out!

Supplies:
Whisper White Card Stock (100730)
Real Red Card Stock (102482)
Pacific Point Card Stock (111350)
Celebrations Designer Series Paper (117164)

NOW FOR THE CANDY ...

My birthday wish is to reach 100 followers and have at least 1,200 hits on my blog.  If I hit these numbers by Friday, October 8, then I will give one lucky winner a small prize pack to include a Scrapbook Kit in a Stack, some Wild Wasabi card stock from a previous Stampin' Up! promotion, a package of Felt Fashions, a package of foam pop up adhesive and a birthday themed stamp set.

Help me reach my birthday goal!  Send someone to my blog and then leave me a comment on THIS post with their name.  Once they become a follower, have them leave a comment that you sent them.  You will both be entered to win the blog candy!  It's that simple.  Thank you all for your support!

Evan's Definitely Decorative Door

Yesterday, I shared Brooke's door decor with you.  Today, I will share Evan's.  Now, being that he is ALL boy and very much into sports, we had to go for the Sporty Skater (116110) look!  This piece measures 10-3/8" x 15-7/8".  It is absolutely awesome in real life.  The letters for his name are retired, however, you can create your own using your Big Shot (113439) and Stampin' Up!'s new Decor Elements Sheets (Page 205 of the Idea Book & Catalog) and any one of our Bigz Alphabet Dies (Page 207).  As with Brooke's room, we will be making some additions to Evan's walls and I will share those as they are finished.

Brooke's Definitely Decorative Door

It took me awhile, but I finally ordered some of our fabulous Definitely Decorative wall decor.  My kids' bedroom doors were very blah so I decided to dress them up a bit.  Today I'm going to share Brooke's door with you.  We will be adding some art to her bedroom walls shortly and I will share that when it's done.  In the meantime ...

For Brooke's door we chose the large Scary Skull (121796) set.  It comes with five pieces; the skull, the "keep out", a "star" face, an "oval" face and a "heart" face.  Obviously, Brooke chose to use the stars for her skull's eyes.  This is available in the Black/Rose Red or Black/White color combos.  There are three sizes to choose from; small (skull 6" x 5-1/4"), medium (skull 9-7/8" x 8-3/4") and large (skull 14-3/4" x 13").  These are really easy to put up, too!
