New Baby Card

Hi all. Sorry I've been MIA. Been a busy week! I actually made ten cards on Sunday! I was so super busy, but I loved it.
I wanted to post my May swap for the 2010 Card Swap on the demo side over at Splitcoaststampers. The theme for May is Baby or 4th of July. I chose Baby. This is a total case of a card from an online class that I took from Heather Summers called Simply Babies. Hope you like it.

Progressive Card

So Heather Summers did a video on this new take on an old technique (progressive scrapbooking). See her post here.

She issued a challenge to create a progressive card beginning with a 3x3 and turning it into a standard A2 card. Here's my take:

3x3 card

I started with a 3x3 card base cut at 6x3 and scored at 3". I stamped Simply Thanks in Orchid Opulence ink on a piece of whisper white and matted it with a piece of Orchid Opulence card stock. I added a small butterfly cut from Orchid Opulence with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

5 1/2 x 4 1/4 Standard A2 card
I stepped it up to a standard card by adding it to a piece of Orchid Opulence edged with the Scalloped Edge Punch mounted on Whisper White and then mounted to an Orchid Opulence card base. I added a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon died with Orchid Opulence ink. I added an additional butterfly cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit from Orchid Opulence card stock, mounted that to a 1 3/4" Whisper White circle and then added that on top of the scalloped Orchid Opulence piece. Hope you like it!

April Swaps - 2010 Monthly Card Swap

Here is my submission for April's 2010 Monthly Card Swap for demonstrators over at Splitcoaststampers. The them was either Father's Day or Wedding. My mojo was seriously lacking and I thought a Father's Day card would be easier. So I went on over to Stamping 411 and found a Saturday Sketch to inspire me. Click on over to check out the sketch. Hope you like it!

UStamp with Dawn and Friends Master Plan Challenge #1

I participated in the first Master Plan Challenge over at UStamp. We were provided a sketch created with My Digital Studio (118108) and were to create a scrapbook page based on that sketch. Now, I can't share the sketch with you as UStamp is a paid class, but here is the page I created based on the sketch provided. Hubby and I took the kids to the aquarium here in Okinawa. It is the second largest aquarium in the world and is amazing. There are three whale sharks along with many, many other species of sea life. There is also a shark tank. We liked it so much we bought season passes and will be back again and again! In fact, hubby and I have already gone back for our anniversary in February.

Stationary Box

As promised, here is the second gift I made for my mom's birthday. Jackie Topa created this fabulous stationary box. Her template can be found at http://jackietopa.typepad.com/Stationary.pdf. This was so easy and so fun to make! The hardest part was deciding on the color combo and Designer Series Paper. I used Chocolate Chip (12x12 - 107102 and 8-1/2x11 - 102128) for the box base and retired Designer Series Paper. For the cards I used the same Designer Series Paper on Whisper White (100730) card bases and embellished with retired Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319). I sure hope she likes it!

Monogrammed Cards

My mom's birthday is next week and I made her a few things. The first is this monogrammed note card set. I'm posting it because I know for a fact that she doesn't read my blog! It uses mainly retired cardstock and paper, with the exception of the Whisper White. The "D" was printed out on my computer. I'll share her second gift tomorrow.

More Swap Cards

My second card for the Over-the-Top Card swap over at Splitcoaststampers is a 3x3. I did another easel card very similar to the one I posted earlier. This one uses Rich Razzleberry (115316) and Orchid Opulence (100969) along with the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper (115671). I used the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit (117332) as well as the Full Heart Punch (113693). Enjoy!

Bird on a Branch

Another swap over at SCS is an

Over-the-Top swap. This swap required at least 5 layers of cardstock as well as 3 embellishments. Plus the card had to be finished on the inside. I chose to use Old Olive cardstock (100702) as my base with layers of So Saffron (105118), Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (117161) from the Occasions Mini (available until April 30), Pretty in Pink (100459) and Whisper White ((100730). I used the Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch (117191) to punch the bird and branch from So Saffron, Old Olive and Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. I tied a piece of 1/4" Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon (109032) into a bow and secured it with a Clear Circle Rhinestone brad (113144). I punched the sentiment with the Word Window punch (105090) and matted it with the Modern Label punch (116630). I added two silver brads from the Vintage Brads collection (109109). The inside of the card is completed with a piece of Whisper White cardstock edged with the Eyelet Border punch (113692). Hope you like it!

It's All About Color Swap

I found my camera charger! Woo hoo!

A few months ago I participated in a challenge over at SCS to create a card with Basic Black (102851) and any ONE color from the Bold Brights collection. You could also use a neutral cardstock. I chose Whisper White (100730) and Real Red (102482). I used the Circle Circus stamp set (115778). The Basic Black cardstock was run through the Big Shot (113439) using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions folder (117335). I attached a panel of Real Red cardstock to the top and layered it with the Whisper White containing the stamped images. I finished it off with a knot tied with 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain ribbon (109034). I also completed the inside of the card with a layer of Whisper White cardstock containing a few stamped images. Hope you like it!

Halfway There!

Well, I found my Beautiful Wings (the butterfly) embosslit! Now I need to find my camera charger and all will be right with the world!

I'm a Loser!

Literally! I can't find the charger for my camera so I haven't been able to take any pictures of my creations. Then, to add insult to injury, I now can't find my new ButterflyEmbosslit! I guess I'll be tearing the house apart tomorrow to find both items. I hope to be back VERY soon with more creations. Thanks for stopping by.
