Organization in the Craft Room

Sorry I was MIA last week.  I was busy in my craft room, just not crafting!  I've been working on organization for a more conducive creating environment.  For my wedding anniversary I got Combo Holder and Lock-Down Punch Holder from stamp 'n' storage (thanks Hunny!).  Let me just say that these are AMAZING!  I am absolutely in love with my storage units and can't wait to add more.  I do believe my next addition will be the Whale-Tail Punch Holders so I can finally get all of my punches off the back of my craft room door and in my line of sight!  Not to mention I don't imagine the weight of all those punches is good for my door hinges ;)

In addition to the great craft room organization project, my computer crashed.  This is a disaster for me because not only am I unable to blog when this happens, but as I work from home, I cannot work.  I was able to do a system recovery; however, I really didn't want to take any chances on it happening again so I purchased a new computer.  I forgot how long it takes to reinstall and set these things up!  Anyway, I am now back up and running and planning to be active on the blog once again!

Here's a little peek at my new storage units!  Don't you just love them!

A Party Without Cake is Just a Meeting!

I absolutely LOVE moving cards!  They just fascinate me.  Some are very difficult to make and some are very easy!  This one was pretty easy in my opinion.  It's a Window Slider Card.  The It's My Party Suite is perfect for this type of card and I love how it turned out.  This type of card is perfect for any occasion, as well.  This was the first time I've made one, but I see more in my future!

I will say that because this is a flat card, it was very difficult to photograph.  I'm not usually a big fan of dark cards, but all the colorful balloons on this Designer Series Paper really makes it pop!  This might be my favorite design in the It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack!

Let's Celebrate!

Here is a sweet little 3x3 note using the Party Wishes and Balloon Celebration stamp sets.  These are both great sets that can be found in the Occasions Catalog and both are available in bundles with coordinating punches.

For this card I began with a 6x3 piece of Watermelon Wonder cardstock scored at 3" and folded in half to create my card base.  I cut two pieces of Whisper White to 2-7/8" square for my top and inside layers.  I stamped the small balloon image from Party Wishes in Watermelon Wonder and their tails are in Memento Tuxedo Black as is the sentiment from Balloon Celebration.  The inside is stamped with the small candle border image from Party Wishes.  I love how this sweet card turned out!

I completed my project by creating a matching envelope out of the Watermelon Wonder envelope paper with my Envelope Punch Board!  Love how it brings everything together.

Under the Weather

I'm sad to say I have nothing to share today. I have been under the weather all weekend and not at all in the crafting mood. I hope to be back in my craft room later this week and have new things to share with y'all!

Are You a "No Contact" Customer?

In the last few months I have received an increasing number of "No Contact" orders from my Online Store. That means a customer has selected that they prefer not to be contacted by a demonstrator.

Stampin' Up! takes privacy very seriously and when a customer opts to have "no contact", that means that I don't even know their name! I can see the order summary, but in the place of a name and address, it simply says: "No Contact".

While I certainly respect that some people wish to shop anonymously, it makes me sad that I can not properly thank these stampers for supporting my business. I strive to offer good customer service, including sending thank you cards with every customer each month!

My fear is that many of these "No Contact" customers don't realize what they are opting OUT of. I have seen orders come through with the Hostess Code and it is clear that they expect to hear from me and get a thank you card as well as the PDF instructions for that card, but I have NO way of contacting them!

If you are reading this and you are a "No Contact" customers, you can change the settings in your customer profile in my Online Store. Email me at jradcock1@yahoo.com and I will send you step-by-step instructions to change this setting.

Thank you for supporting my business and for giving me the opportunity to service your stamping and shopping needs!

Throwback to Summer Smooches

A member of our team lost her husband not too long ago and is in need of Thank You cards.  One of the ladies offered to send some so I jumped in and whipped up 10 of these beauties to help her out.  I really love the Pacific Point and Real Red together.  It really is quite striking.  You could easily replace any the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper with any number of our current offerings!  The Thank You is from the Tin of Cards stamp set.  I love how versatile that set is!  You can use it for so much more than with the Tin of Cards Project Kit.

Just For You!

This little set was so easy and fun to create.  Since Sale-a-Bration is in full swing, I just had to showcase items from that catalog.  The Botanicals for you stamp is awesome as is the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  Please note that the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper is only available until February 15!!!!  You really don't want to miss out on this gorgeous paper!  There are 12 of our wonderful colors in this Designer Series Paper.  The swirled design is one color and the water color design on the reverse side is a different color.  Your options are endless!

These cards are so simple, but still pack a punch.  The Designer Series Paper is the perfect background for the large Just for You focal image!  I just love how they turned out.  I hope you like them, too!

Hello Little Sunshine

For my January Customer Appreciation card I wanted to highlight one of the Limited Availability Sale-a-Bration items.  I absolutely love the Hello stamp set.  It is so versatile and fun!  I appreciate my customers so very much and my monthly appreciation card is the least I can do for them.  I always include a PDF so they can easily recreate the card if they would like.  The finished card is 3" x 5" (I must admit, I cut my card bases the same size as our Note Cards, which are 3-1/2" x 5", but I cut my layers incorrectly so I had to chop 1/2" off my card bases).  Isn't it adorable!

Who Doesn't Love Minions???

Sorry for the late post!  Okay, I have to be honest ... this is not a new card.  I haven't been in my stamp room for a few days, just haven't had the time or the energy.  I really need to take the rest of the week off and completely clean/reorganize my space!  In fact, I won't be posting Friday so I can do just that and hopefully get in there and start papercrafting again!  It is truly my passion and therapy.  I can get lost for hours in the creative process.  My former next door neighbor's daughter (man I miss them and wish they would move back!!!) is a total Minion freak.  For her 3rd birthday I knew I wanted to do something special for her and her amazing mommy, so I offered to make her thank you cards for her Minion themed birthday.  I wish I could remember where I got the inspiration for this card ... most likely Pinterest ... but I can't be positive.  If you are the original creator of the card that inspired me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  It's one of my favorites!

I created this card with the Circle Card Thinlet as a base.  The eye was created with the 2-1/2", 2", 1-3/4" and 1-1/2" Circle Punches.  I used the Word Window Punch for the arms and 1/2" Circle Punch for the hands, as well as the 1" square for the pants.  This was such a fun card to make!

6x6 One Sheet Wonder

I was messing around on Pinterest (don't you just LOVE Pinterest?) and came across this Pin for a 6x6 One Sheet Wonder and decided I HAD to give it a try.  I'm always trying to find ways to get the most out of my Designer Series Paper.  I absolutely HATE waste!  And it's taken me years to actually train myself to cut into my beautiful paper.  I must have over 40 packs of unopened retired DSP because I couldn't bear the thought of cutting into my beautiful paper and then never being able to get it again once it retired!  I have had to re-train my brain to understand that there will always be NEW and EXCITING DSP in the next Idea Book & Catalog so I just have to bite the bullet and use what I buy!  With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I decided to go with the Love Blossoms suite in the Occasions Catalog.  I'm super happy with how these turned out.  I hope you love them as much as I do and that you are inspired to cut into that luscious Designer Series Paper that you have been hoarding, I mean cherishing!
